In spring 2024, Chris van der Zande reviewed Synano’s pitch deck after more than a year of evaluating startups. His conclusion was immediate. Synano is the only company to have achieved stable nanoparticle suspension across all types of low-viscosity fluids, based on patented technology. A small fraction of nanoparticles in the fluid can save and earn millions for data center operators. He co-invested and joined as Commercial Director.
Chris brings 15 years of experience scaling biochemical companies and managing global projects. At Synano, he leads commercial partnerships and market expansion with a clear strategic position: “Rather than competing with fluid and oil manufacturers, Synano works alongside them, enhancing their existing systems with nano additives.”
Nano additives do not require a replacement cycle. They drop into existing infrastructure, improve cooling efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and lower the carbon footprint of data center operations. Chris’s role is to build the partnerships that make adoption fast, scalable, and enable operators to upgrade their energy efficiency with the equipment they already run.
