Synano NanoCoolant™ AG One is a ready-to-use water-based heat transfer fluid enhanced with aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) nanoparticles. A single formulation with no concentration variants. Designed for closed-loop systems where freeze protection is not required, it covers direct-to-chip data center cooling, cold-plate architectures, and industrial process cooling in climate-controlled environments. Developed by Synano’s thermal engineering team, building on research at Delft University of Technology.
Where freeze protection is not a constraint, water is the thermally superior base fluid. Synano NanoCoolant™ AG One delivers 630 mW/m·K at 25°C, compared to 477 mW/m·K for a conventional PG25 coolant. That is a 32.1% thermal conductivity advantage, translating directly into lower thermal resistance, higher heat flux capability, and more effective heat exchangers at the same pump load and flow rate.
The alumina nanoparticle loading also delivers validated biostatic behaviour. Microbial load is reduced by 88.7 to 98.9% against a river-water challenge. No biocide dosing or pH adjustment schedule needed. For operators running conventional chemical water treatment programmes, this eliminates a recurring cost typically between €20,000 and €60,000 per year.
REACH compliant, non-hazardous under EU CLP, validated to ASTM D1384. Fill once. No maintenance.
Synano AG One delivers 630 mW/m·K at 25°C. Conventional PG25 delivers 477 mW/m·K which is a 32.1% advantage. Higher heat flux, lower thermal resistance, smaller or more effective heat exchangers at the same pump energy and flow rates.
Alumina nanoparticles suppress microbial growth without chemical additives. Validated at 88.7 to 98.9% reduction in microbial load against a river-water challenge. No dosing programme, no monthly checks, no fluid replacement cycle. Eliminates a recurring operational cost typically between €20,000 and €60,000 per year.
Validated against six metals to ASTM D1384 at 88°C over 336 hours. Corrosion inhibitor package tuned for the alumina formulation. Compatible with aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel.
Less than 2% sedimentation over five years of monitored static storage. Survives freeze-thaw without permanent settling. Less than 1% reduction in thermophysical properties after two years on shelf.
Works with standard pumps, cold plates, seals (EPDM, Viton, silicone, nitrile), and common metals. Single formulation, no dilution, no mixing. Flush the loop with Synano Pre-Treatment Agent before filling.
Non-toxic, non-flammable, non-carcinogenic, non-bioaccumulative. No chemical treatment programme required. Synano operates a spent-fluid take-back program for nanoparticle recovery and responsible processing.
All values measured to ASTM standards. Thermal conductivity values shown across the operating temperature window (25°C to 55°C). Viscosity and density reference values at 25°C. Values shown are for the nano-enhanced fluid.

Synano NanoCoolant™ AG One provides no freeze protection. It is designed exclusively for systems operating above 0°C. Dynamic viscosity increases slightly versus base water, consistent with nanoparticle loading. The 32.1% thermal conductivity gain over conventional PG25 and the validated biostatic behaviour are the primary performance advantages of this formulation.
