Alumina nano-enhanced additive for dielectric immersion cooling oils. Compatible with mineral oil, GTL, PAO-2, and Ester base fluids.
Synano NanoAdditive™ is an alumina nanoparticle concentrate engineered to upgrade existing dielectric immersion cooling oils. Added directly to mineral oil, GTL, PAO-2, or Ester base fluids already in service, it increases thermal conductivity, reduces viscosity where the base fluid allows, and significantly improves breakdown voltage, with no fluid replacement, no system modification, or operational interruption. Developed by Synano’s thermal engineering team, building on research at Delft University of Technology.
Immersion cooling oils have a thermal ceiling. As rack power density climbs, that ceiling becomes the constraint. Synano NanoAdditive™ raises it. Depending on base fluid type and nanoparticle loading, thermal conductivity improves by 2 to 15%, and breakdown voltage increases by up to 120% versus untreated mineral oil. Figure of Merit analysis confirms up to 15% improvement in natural convection and up to 6% improvement in forced convection versus mineral oil base, translating directly into higher supportable power density at the same operating temperature.
Available in formulations optimised for four base fluid types: mineral oil, GTL, PAO-2, and ester. Each formulation is validated at two nanoparticle concentration levels, giving operators control over the performance and viscosity trade-off for their specific system. The ester formulation is available for custom and application-specific projects. Contact Synano to scope a tailored formulation. Tested in partner deployments across Europe and the United States. Non-toxic, non-flammable, and compatible with standard immersion infrastructure from first use.
Synano NanoAdditives™ are available now for mineral oil, GTL, PAO-2, and Ester base fluids. Contact our technical team to discuss your system, request a sample, or get performance data for your specific base fluid.
